A Cloud-Based Innovation for Establishing Environmental Surveillance: The Smart Air Quality Monitoring System
摘要
Rising air pollution is a major problem due to growing industrialization. This pollution spike has caused respiratory illnesses in humans and animals. Continuous air quality monitoring is essential in the twenty-first century. This study introduces a secure air quality monitoring system. The architecture carefully integrates a variety of sensors to collect detailed data. The system relies on the ESP32 microcontroller. The hardware prototype is a portable lab with several sensors and an easy-to-use display. These sensors facilitate real-time monitoring of critical air quality indicators such as PM 1, PM 2.5, PM 10, CO2 levels, climate, and moisture. Furthermore, flexibility of this prototype is evident in its adaptability. With minor adjustments, it can be effortlessly transformed into a tailored monitoring system, primed for scalability and ready to meet the evolving demands of the future. Air quality monitoring system consistently measured air quality parameters ensuring reliable data collection. Variations in PM 2.5 concentrations, particularly during the busiest industrial hours, highlighted the importance of pollution mitigation. Urbanization and transportation were associated with CO2 concentrations, indicating the influence of people on air quality. Pollutant dispersion was impacted by differences in temperature and humidity. The necessity for efficient management was highlighted by long-term trends showing a significant increase in PM 10 levels. Comparative assessments showed the system to be efficient and cost-effective, supporting the idea that it may be used widely.
