Enhancing Healthcare for Paralyzed Patients Through Internet of Things Driven Communication and Monitoring

A revolution in healthcare is underway as a result of the convergence of technology, medical care, and the Internet of Things (IoT). A cutting-edge strategy to improve care and communication for patients who are paralyzed is at the forefront of these advancements. This method creates a remote patient monitoring system that is unmatched in functionality and design by seamlessly integrating Data Gloves, NodeMCU, OLED displays, and a variety of advanced sensors. The NodeMCU micro-controller, which enables flawless connectivity and real-time data transfer, is at the center of this system. This dynamism makes sure that all important data is accurately recorded and conveyed, from small gestures to crucial health metrics. The system’s capabilities are empirically demonstrated by the “Serial Monitoring Results,” which are described in Sect. 1. Table 1 highlights the breadth of monitoring capabilities by going into further detail about the outputs and actions connected to different gestures. This work stands out for its novelty despite its technical aspects. A substantial gap in the current healthcare solutions is filled by concentrating on paralyzed patients, a population with particular healthcare needs, opening the door for more individualized and responsive care. Healthcare providers can ensure patient safety and well-being by making informed decisions based on timely and accurate data from the system. In summary, this study shows how empathy and technology can coexist. Setting a new standard for remote patient monitoring, particularly for individuals who are paralyzed, it connects the cutting-edge capabilities of IoT with the crucial human element of medical care.
