Power Quality Challenges and Mitigation Techniques for Performance Enhancement of Hybrid AC/DC Microgrids: An Overview
摘要
Power quality is the important factor of power system to support the linear and nonlinear loads. As the use of complex power electronics controllers and nonlinear loads is increasing day by day, power quality (PQ) has become an essential concern. Improvement of power quality is required to enhance the efficiency of the devices and reduction of losses in electricity. This article is an overview of the hybrid AC/DC microgrid (HACDC) based on the power electronics in distributed generations (DGs), energy storage battery and distributed loads to improve power quality and mitigate power quality issues. Various types of power quality issues are presented in hybrid microgrid generation like as electric charging station, power generation and transmission. For multipurpose utilization, hybrid AC/DC microgrid is more reliable when compared with separate form of AC and DC microgrid. To enhance the efficiency of HACDC microgrid, it is necessary to analyze the stability control, optimal size and power quality issues. The current article discusses detailed overview on power quality issues and its mitigation techniques in HACDC microgrid. Bearing in mind the power quality enhancement (PQE) is essential for distributed nature of harmonic loads. There are various challenges faced in power quality like microgrid power quality issues, sag/swell issues, harmonics, voltage unbalance and fluctuations.
