Performance Evaluation of Fault-Tolerant Strategies for Electric Vehicle Chargers
摘要
The concept of fault management for electric vehicle charging system is evolved to address the chargers for charging and failure of power electronics converters. The electric vehicles charging systems convert AC power into DC voltage from external power to charge battery packs. The chargers are adaptable since they convert energy from AC sources. The various motor drive-based electronics configurations have been described for efficient charging which barely increases the cost of the chargers. For grid interconnection, the reliability of the charger is an important element. This paper provides the review of the major techniques for the fault tolerances and the failure of power electronic converters for charging the electric vehicles. The paper also shows the performance study of the chargers based on its complexity and cost. Some performance insights based on future developments has also been described for better understanding.
