摘要

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has a disastrous effect on the lives and health of those who experience it, as well as on those who care for them. Besides the inherent complexities of individuals’ conditions, there are notable repercussions for both health and social security systems due to TBI. This is primarily because individuals with TBI often experience a considerable decrease in their ability to work. Therefore, conducting research to better understand the physiological changes resulting from TBI is crucial. The present book chapter offers a concise summary of the classification of traumatic brain injuries and the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms involved.
