Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a reason for disability and death in teenagers and the youthful adult global population. Although increasing findings and progress in our comprehension of TBI’s intricate pathophysiology, the principal processes remain unknown. Whereas an early brain insult causes rapid and irreversible main brain damage, after a secondary brain injury, the healing processes take months or years to complete, allowing for therapeutic approaches. So much study has been devoted to identifying druggable targets implicated in these mechanisms. Despite many years of excellent preclinical trials and extremely promising outcomes, when these medications were brought to clinics, they showed, at most, small therapeutic benefits but frequently no effects or very harsh detrimental effects in those with traumatic brain injuries. This reality has underlined the necessity for creative techniques that can respond to the TBI’s complexity and address TBI symptoms on numerous levels. The latest research clearly implies that nutritional treatments may present a special opportunity to enhance TBI healing mechanisms. Dietary polyphenols, a large family of chemicals common in vegetables and fruits, have appeared as prospective agents for usage in TBI settings in recent years due to their demonstrated pleiotropic effects.
