Control of Ice Formation Process and Ice Distribution

摘要

This chapter introduces the growth process of the ice layer in detail under the condition of micro-droplets icing, and reveals the difference between micro-droplets freezing and aggregated droplets freezing. The influence and mechanism of environmental parameters, including degree of supercooling, liquid water content, average droplet diameter and incoming wind speed, on the freezing process of micro droplets were discussed. On this basis, the influences of surface properties on the freezing process of micro droplets are analyzed, including the influence of surface composition and surface morphology. The control mechanism of icing process by adjusting the surface properties of materials is proposed, and specific methods for controlling icing process and ice layer distribution are clarified.
