摘要

The non-wetting property is one of the important properties of the material surface, related to the different movement modes of surface droplets. Therefore, it will also affect the freezing of water droplets. This chapter systematically introduces the theory of non-wetting interfaces on material surfaces. It summarizes the influence of surface structure's morphology and size on the non-wetting property and its durability. In addition, the dynamic repellence and wettability hysteresis performance of different structures are discussed in this chapter. A series of non-wetting behaviors, such as wetting state transition, droplet rebound, interfacial heat transfer, droplet condensation, and self-repelling at low temperatures are further explained in detail. Finally, interesting phenomena of droplet directional bounce and self-transport on non-wetting surfaces are introduced. The chapter can provide the theoretical and experimental basis for designing and preparing superhydrophobic/anti-icing surfaces.
