Low Earth Orbit Satellite Networks

This chapter proposes a unified handover analysis of ultra-dense low-Earth orbit satellite networks with beamforming methods. Section 4.2 introduces the spatial setup, user mobility model, and handover boundary. Section 4.3 presents the problem formulation and transform for space-ground integrated network (SGIN) under the backhaul capacity constraint. Section 4.4 proposes a modified Gale-Shapley matching algorithm and investigates the handover performance. Section 4.5 proposes the MPSO-based beamforming method to improve the capacity of satellite backhaul links. Finally, Sect. 4.6 concludes the chapter.
