摘要

The need for reliable radiation detection technology in environmental monitoring, industrial safety, and health-related research has led to advancements in gas sensing technology. Two-dimensional materials, such as graphene oxide and MoS2, have been explored for gas detection due to their minimal atomic thickness and high surface-to-volume ratio. The renewal of MoS2 is attributed to its historical application as a lubricant. Sulfides such as WS2 have found utility in gas-sensing technologies and nano-electronic devices. Single atomic species materials like phosphorene have been employed in a variety of applications including industrial design control, health inspection, environmental monitoring, agriculture, and safety, particularly in the development of gas sensors. These sensors have shown impressive capabilities in detecting various gases, including toxic pollutants, volatile organic compounds, flammable gases, and biological gases. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of gas sensors utilizing 2D materials, with a focus on recent advancements in graphene oxide, exfoliated MoS2, WS2, and Phosphorene for gas detection applications.
