摘要

Tumor microenvironment-derived factors (TMDFs) can disrupt the biophysical properties of dendritic cells (DCs), hence compromising their immunological capabilities. DC-based immune treatment against cancer may be more clinically effective if the tumor microenvironment is rebuilt. Selenium is an essential trace element for humans and controls DC immunological activity. The primary objective of this chapter is to provide a comprehensive review of the immunomodulatory effects of selenium on dendritic cells and to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms that may be involved.
