Introduction

Since the discovery of dendritic cells (DCs) by Ralph M. Steinman, substantial progress has been made in understanding the immune response and clinical application of these cells in immune-associated disease therapies. Herein, several medical implications of DC biology are reviewed to account for illness and provide opportunities for prevention and therapy.
