Circuit That Models Supercapacitor Module Discharge

The work described here has two parts. In the first of two parts, a buck circuitry is powered from supercapacitor module that can provide the desired voltage for the application. No additional power supply is present in the circuit. The buck circuit given here will give out a constant output as voltage with reference to the decreasing input voltages provided by the supercapacitor arrangement module or fluctuations and deviations in the output current of the circuit for a range: 400 mA to 1 A. This Buck circuit which is supplied by supercapacitor module (SCM) is so de-signed that feed-forward pulse width modulation (FF-PWM) closed loop control present in the circuit will change the duty cycle proportionately according to the decreasing voltage input given by the SCM. The buck circuit discussed, is de-signed to give output of 4.3–5 V while allowing maximum current output of 1 Amp. The rate at which the voltage of SCM decays depends on output of the circuit. In next of the two parts a circuit is made that will make a power supply voltage decay almost like the voltage of SCM in the first part. This circuit giving out voltage like discharging SCM when placed as powering circuit for buck module in place of SCM will give almost same output. The innovation being a circuit that can be used in place of SCM to power an application and estimate its run time and characteristics when powered by supercapacitor.
