Refractory Orbital Cellulitis in a Child

A 5-year-old child presented with a history of, swelling around the eye ptosis, periorbital cellulitis, conjunctival chemosis, and fever. He was on intravenous antibiotics for three weeks without any relief. While still on treatment, his symptoms worsened with enhanced proptosis, ophthalmoplegia, and deterioration of vision from 6/9 to 6/24. He was thus referred for surgical intervention.
