Gossypiboma, or retained surgical sponge, is an infrequently encountered surgical complication, especially in the orbital region. A 36-year-old woman presented with pain and swelling around her left eye for 12 months. History revealed that a left-sided external dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) was performed elsewhere one and a half years ago. A CT scan and MRI revealed a well-defined hypodense lesion mimicking an orbital mass. An endoscopic exploration of the orbital mass was planned.
