The Beginnings of India’s History: Archeological and Genetic History

While prehistory helps establish the early settlements of humans in India, genetic history helps establish the first human strides. The newly established time clock for MtDNA lineages and Y lineages is one of the most reliable data sources for understanding some of the early migrations and settlements of human groups in India during prehistory. Therefore, the present paper examines the genetic and archeological history of India to help correlate the data from both sources to arrive at a comprehensive understanding of India. This chapter contains two sections in addition to introduction and conclusion. The first section is dedicated to examining the prehistory of India while the second section is dedicated to the examination of the genetic history of India.
