This book chapter delves into the peroxidase-like activity of Carbon Quantum Dots (CQDs) synthesized through environmentally friendly methods. Green synthesis methods, such as hydrothermal and microwave-assisted techniques, are explored for their role in producing CQDs with unique catalytic properties. The investigation emphasizes the significance of sustainable nanomaterials, aligning their catalytic efficiency with eco-friendly practices. CQDs, known for biocompatibility, low toxicity, and tunable luminous properties, exhibit promising peroxidase-like activity.
