Designing for Diversity
摘要
This chapter highlights the importance of community in online classes, with links to the Community of Inquiry model. The potential for AOD in diverse settings with diverse students is explored, as sites for collaborative learning and reflective thinking. Challenges of online communication are acknowledged, with suggestions for compensating strategies. Diversity is explored in terms of geographic location, level of study, and student heterogeneity. AOD is analysed in relation to prominent frameworks of universal design for learning, and culturally responsive teaching.
