Introduction: Cultural Linguistics and the Social World

In the social world that is undergoing unprecedented changes in the twenty-first century, there is still a deeply human need to understand and navigate complex social issues. Starting from the premise that Cultural Linguistics (CL) as an interdisciplinary field can offer a better view on the complex interplay between language and the social world, the application of linguistic insights to real-world challenges may hopefully create more equitable, inclusive, and effective solutions to address societal problems.
