Non-Hermitian Phase Transition in All-Dielectric Apodized One-Dimensional Photonic Crystals
摘要
The non-Hermitian nature of coupled-mode Hamiltonian for electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation in one-dimensional photonic crystal presents us with the opportunity to study the intriguing physical aspects of exceptional points and phase transition in an all-optical system. Here we present an analytical description for observing multiple second-order exceptional points in an all-dielectric lossless apodized photonic crystal and the resulting phase transition during the spatial evolution of modes.
