Simple Markov Queueing Models
摘要
The fundamental notions of CTMCs are discussed in detail in Chapter 4 . A BDP is one such CTMC, which is discussed in Chapter 5 , the structure of which leads to a simple solution for the system’s steady-state probability. A broad class of simple queueing models can be developed using the theory of BDP. Using the theory of BDP, several queueing models can be constructed. A queueing model can be used to investigate queues or waiting lines. It provides a good mathematical formulation for several real-world queueing systems, and its analysis reveals properties such as the mean number of customers in a queue and the waiting time in a queue, which can be used in service system design and planning. In this chapter, the above mentioned models and variations of these models based on the arrival rate, service rate, and customer behaviour are analyzed thoroughly. Further, the analysis of these models leads to the computation of effective performance measures of a system.
