Training Needs Analysis for Digital Assessment in Higher Education
摘要
During the lockout, one of the biggest challenges facing higher education professionals was administering digital assessments. Higher education institutions are still faced with the issue of using the advancements made during the pandemic to propel a more comprehensive digital transformation in the post-pandemic age. This transformation is necessary to adapt to technological developments, meet the demands of society and the job market, and improve the quality of their educational offerings. What particular knowledge, abilities, and support do professionals in higher education need to effectively use and integrate digital assessment into their teaching and the student support services offered by the university? The chapter illustrates the range of training requirements in this setting and how an effective analysis of training needs may be conducted to recommend specialised training programmes or create training plans at the departmental or institutional level. This chapter explains the training needs assessment methodology and gives concrete examples of how to conduct an analysis of that kind. The shown example’s main objective was to offer training courses and materials that will raise university students’ proficiency with digital assessments. In this way, higher education institutions are provided with crafted solutions that can be adapted to their institutional contexts to carry out training needs analysis and training programmes for enhanced digital assessment.
