Lawmaking Actors, Processes and Discourses in Sri Lanka
摘要
This chapter elaborates on the global and local lawmaking actors and processes and the way they construct the discourses on IP in Sri Lanka. This chapter identifies two broad approaches in the literature on lawmaking. The first is ‘coercion and implementation’ and the second approach is ‘legal transplant’. By using this two approaches this chapter will analyses how these approaches have been used to characterise the direction of lawmaking discourse in Sri Lanka. The chapter concludes that local discourses have been more influential than the global discourses in IP lawmaking in Sri Lanka.
