Algorithmic Framework for Aerial Image Stitching to Create High-Resolution Maps for Navigation in a GPS-Denied Environment
摘要
In the face of natural and man-made disasters that cripple traditional communication and navigation systems, a cost-effective solution for navigation in non-GPS environments is crucial. This article delves into the multifaceted challenges posed by the loss of the Internet, GPS, and communication infrastructure during catastrophic scenarios, highlighting their detrimental impacts on rescue operations, resource management, and overall disaster recovery efforts. The emphasis is on the importance of autonomous systems, such as drones, that are capable of navigating without GPS guidance. The aim was to empower disaster recovery teams with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate and coordinate effectively amidst the chaos of communication and navigation system breakdown.
