摘要

In this work Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes simulations of experiments performed on a cylindrical inlet by Funderburk and Narayanaswamy in AIAA J 57:1594–1607 (2019) are performed. Specifically, simulations of a Mach 2.5 flow with a fully turbulent flow model and a transition/turbulence model are computed and compared with the experimental data and numerical predictions from the aforementioned paper. It is observed that while the solution changes marginally with the use of a transition model, the results compare better with experimental data for the fully turbulent simulations, but using a shorter domain length.
