Analysis and Improvement of PV System Efficiency Using Dual Axis Solar Tracker with Arduino Uno

Nowadays, there is a significant power generation demand in the usage of renewable and non-renewable resources that have been increased hastily. In general, the solar panel power system is immobile; this means, the solar panel will not always be facing the direction of the sun; because of this the sunlight intensity is absorbed by the panel which is not maximum thus reducing the efficiency of the solar photovoltaic system. To overcome this imperfection of “Dual Axis Solar Tracking Systems” are proposed. The dual axis tracker has an annual energy gain of 36.504% when equated to single axis tracker. The proposed system comprises Arduino UNO to control the entire system, light-dependant resistors (LDR) to sense the intensity of light and transmit the data to the Arduino UNO, and DC motors to mobilize the solar panel. The proposed system vigorously tracks the sun and changes its position accordingly to maximize the output power.
