摘要

To achieve the zero-emission objectives, electric-powered vehicles contribute a lot. Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) are garnering increased attention owing to their advantages over conventional motors, such as robust construction, the absence of permanent magnets on either the stator or rotor side, and inherent fault tolerance capabilities. However, a notable limitation of SRMs lies in their susceptibility to high torque ripple. This investigation aims to address this issue by implementing a strategic approach: inserting a rectangular slot within the stator tooth and subsequently optimizing torque ripple through variation of slot depth. The performance was evaluated utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) modeling. The integration of such slots within the stator not only facilitates a reduction in overall material consumption but also yields cost savings in motor production. Furthermore, the diminished material usage translates to a concomitant reduction in iron loss and overall motor weight, thereby enhancing the motor's efficiency and performance characteristics. The proposed design reveals a notable reduction in torque ripple by 29.15%, along with a consequential 4.35% reduction in material utilization compared to the conventional design.
