Three-Port Converter-Based Plug-In EV Charging with Solar PV and Grid Power
摘要
Solar energy is the most popular source of renewable energy for residential and semi-commercial applications. Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels are essential for the sustainable future of the electric vehicle (EV) transportation system. The creation of an EV charger that can run on both solar PV electricity and a single-phase AC grid is presented in this research study. Realizing a three-port power converter with high power density and efficiency that integrates the grid, photovoltaic cells, and electric vehicles is the goal. Since both PV and EV are DC in nature, a DC connection is used by the grid converter and PV converter to exchange electricity between the grid and EV in order to increase efficiency. Two distinct power flows are guaranteed by the closed-loop control: PV → EV and grid → EV. Additionally, the control strategy balances power between the PV, grid, and battery power, enhancing charger dependability and lowering reliance on traditional grid power.
