Strategy of Productivity and Sustainability of Rice Farms in Vietnam
摘要
Rice, a staple food supporting over half of the global population, faces increasing challenges due to climate change, rising hunger levels, exacerbated by factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and export bans like India's. Vietnam, a significant rice exporter, must navigate these challenges while seizing economic and development opportunities. However, its rice agriculture has faced transformations and sustainability issues over the past two decades, including land fragmentation and climate change vulnerabilities. To address these challenges and contribute to the global food security, Vietnam's current strategy emphasizes mechanization, environmental awareness, adaptation, and collaboration, along with land consolidation, as cost-effective solutions to boost productivity, reduce poverty, and to mitigate climate change impacts.
