A Comparative Study of Computational Algorithms for Finding Motif in the Genome of Viruses
摘要
Each virus has a genetic code, and its functionality depends on its genetic code. To understand the functional components of virus, the genetic code of the virus needs to be studied. Identifying the motif helps understand the complex mechanism behind viral pathogenicity, evolution, and host interaction of the virus. In this research, three methods are used to find the pattern in virus genomes. We work on algorithms like Greedy Motif Search without pseudocount, Greedy Motif Search with pseudocount, and Randomized Motif Search. In this study, each algorithm is used to identify the motifs. The study further investigates how different viruses and their genetic features affect the algorithm. The different viruses used in the study are DosR, Corona, and Zika Virus. The main aim of the study is to apply different algorithms on three different viruses and study the motifs obtained.
