摘要

The growing global population and the need for increased food supplies necessitate the implementation of modern techniques to minimize losses in agricultural production. Undeniably, novel chemicals derived from the discovery of new compound structures and their biological activities have been synthesized worldwide. Moreover, traditional and rapidly acting chemical pesticides are being scrutinized for their adverse effects on the environment, primarily stemming from resistance development, residue issues, and harmful impacts on beneficial microorganisms. However, stricter legislation and regulations to reduce the wider use of chemically synthesized pesticides have increased the need and significance of ecofriendly pesticides, which have been an emerging trend to control insect pests. The challenges have imposed developments in the application of a group of biopesticides, specifically to help plant defense mechanisms and mortify pests. Nanotechnology with modern formulations is an advanced approach to increasing the efficacy of biopesticides. The eco-friendly use of bioagents like microbes has emerged as a cost-effective and efficient approach for synthesizing nanoparticles through green synthesis methods. Comparing the current availability of pest control options with nanobiopesticide formulations and considering their future applications will result in the development of more potential products. This chapter discusses the possibilities and methods of application of nanobiopesticides to perk up the smart delivery of active ingredients with the minimum loss of biopesticide.
