Analysis of Plasma Channel and Its Effects
摘要
When dealing with high voltages and arcs, an important factor to count in is the plasma it produces. The Electric Discharge Machining is no exception to this effect. It is wise to count in the factor of the plasma channel that is produced during the machining process. The plasma generated in this high voltage process allows the lingering of residual heat which has its effects on the process. Its growth during the pulse-on time can have various effects on the machining process. This will also have an effect on the layers which have resolidified on the surface of the work piece. Here we will use a thermal model to show the growth of the channel alongside the effects on various factors of the machining process. We will also specify methods we will use to calculate the layer thickness of the layers that have resolidified.
