摘要

Inconel X-750 is a superalloy that is well known for its outstanding mechanical properties, exceptional corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance. It is capable of resisting chemical corrosion in both oxidizing and reducing industrial environments. Due to these exceptional properties, it is frequently used in rocket engine chambers, gas turbine engines, and nuclear power plants. In this research article, the machining of Inconel X-750 was examined in electrical discharge machining (EDM) in a mineral oil dielectric medium. The control parameters like peak current, pulse-on time, pulse-off time, and jump speed were incorporated to evaluate the material removal rate (MRR), surface roughness (SR), and tool wear rate (TWR) of Inconel X-750. The recently developed combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) technique was employed for the optimization of machining performances. The research findings suggested the best control parameter setting for multi-response optimization. The jump speed, a newly introduced process parameter for the machining of Inconel X-750, was observed as the most influential process parameter. The formation of a recast layer, micro globules, uneven pockmarks, fusion structure, and migration of carbon and copper were observed on the surface of Inconel X-750 machined by the EDM process.
