Comparative Performance Analysis of Boost and SEPIC Converter Efficiency for MPPT of Photovoltaic System for Constant Power Loads
摘要
Solar energy is mostly utilized out of the major renewable energy sources present around us as it is easily available. So nowadays, photovoltaic technology is a key area of research in order to enhance the opportunity and improvement in this field. Photovoltaic technology aims to keep control of power, conversion to AC power, and maximum power point tracking (MPPT). In this paper, non-isolated DC-DC converter topologies such as Boost and SEPIC converters are performed for PV sources based on MPPT. The comparative performance analysis of the system is covered with various aspects such as output voltage, current, power, and size of passive elements. Moreover, the time response to attain maximum power is utilized to compare and analyze characteristics of two converters and find more optimum converters in various operating conditions. The response of both models is verified in a MATLAB/Simulink environment.
