Position Sensorless Speed Control of SRM Using ANFIS

Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) or rare earth-free motor is gaining popularity in EV industry due to various reasons like its simple structure, low cost, high-temperature operation, and applicability at high rotational and variable speeds. The position sensorless speed control approach for SRM utilizing an ANFIS controller is laid out in this study. Sensorless control refers to the elimination of the mechanical sensor by an electrical technique. The proposed controller includes the learning capacity of neural networks and expert knowledge of the fuzzy system. The performance outcomes show that this scheme gives better performance and less torque ripple compared to the traditional controller (PI).
