Gaseous Speed of Sound, Single Phase (Component)

摘要

In this chapter, the definition for speed of sound through a gas is given and then a simple equation is developed for an ideal, perfect gas. Cubic equations of state to include van der Waal, Redlich–Kwong, and Redlich–Kwong–Soave are derived as well as the relationship between speed of sound (isothermal) and speed of sound (isentropic). The chapter goes on to provide speed of sound equations for a van der Waal and Redlich–Kwong gas and shows the effects of assuming an ideal, perfect gas on speed of sound when the gas is allowed to be cubic with a temperature varying specific heat.
