摘要

As of now, India is experiencing a labor shortage as people move into urban areas as daily wage workers and agriculture is becoming unproductive. But advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) opens vast opportunities in research, innovations, and development in the agriculture sector. As a result of AI, farmers can get answers to many complex issues by collecting and analyzing huge amounts of data from public and government websites. They can also manage inputs more efficiently by accounting all variables within the field, resulting in higher yields as well. It is also anticipated that future farmers will have more skills in technologies and biology instead of purely agricultural skills. Agriculture is a huge field of application for AI, from crop sowing to till postharvesting. This chapter highlights the comprehensive irrigation system that automates the process of irrigation that will reduce human and resource consumption, as well as water consumption. AI can help us come up with smart irrigation strategies that apply water at the right time and in the right amount. Also, this chapter aims to outline the drawbacks of chemical pesticides, traditional pest management methods, and the evolving role of artificial intelligence in pest management
