Low Power Ultra-wideband Transmitter for Medical Internet of Thing Systems

Wireless body sensor networks have been developed to the new phase called Medical Internet of Things. Various sensor is worn on specific spots on the body to sense the physiological parameters of the body. The sensed data will then be undergoing to digital form in the front end of the hardware system, and then, the base band modulation will used to upload the data. The sensors upload the data in one of the multiple access types known as Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) to the access point of Medical Internet of Things (MIoT). In the present work, a low power, ultra-wideband (UWB)-based transmitter is designed and implemented. The proposed type of UWB communication provides noise-free transmission with high bandwidth, consuming low power. The simulation is carried out in industry-specific Cadence tool, and the waveforms obtained are well within the expected amplitude and time periods of UWB pulses.
