Compact Transparent Antenna for Wireless Communication

摘要

5G technology demands more number of metal antennas to address the dead space of signal coverage in an application area. This damages the aesthetic look of the surroundings. To overcome this, we go in for the choice of designing compact, efficient transparent antennas at the same 5G frequency range (FR1 band). In this research project, HFSS simulation tool is used to the design and analyze transparent antenna in FR1 band of 5G. Based on the simulated results, transparent antenna will be fabricated using laser cutting and tested. Anechoic chamber and VNA are used to validate the fabricated transparent antenna. Indium tin oxide (ITO) is used as conducting material for patch and acrylic glass as the dielectric substrate material. Transparent antennas can be used in various 5G applications as a router on window planes to address dead spaces, car windshields for better signal quality, medical applications like spectacles to communicate the information sensed by IoT devices. Transparent antenna parameters are compared with opaque antenna parameters to analyze performance.
