The content on Web in various languages is growing rapidly with the fast rate. Every user is playing a role of consumer as well as creator. Due to technological advancements and globalization, the people want to search documents of various languages. This creates a path for CLIR and MLIR searching. In this paper, we evaluate the efficiency of IR and CLIR retrieved results and observed that MIR achieves better retrieval effectiveness than CLIR. We also analyze the various issues like incorrect query translation and lack of resources, which degrade the quality of CLIR relevancy.
