Emerging contaminants (ECs) are generally classified into pharmaceutical (Ps) and personal care products (PCPs) commonly known as PPCPs which negatively impact ecology and have drawbacks to human health and aquatic organisms. Ceramic-polymeric membranes with nanoparticle coating play a major role in the effective removal of ECs but the influence of NPs on membrane structures and performance is yet to be understood.Treatment of ECs using ceramic ultrafiltration membranes coated with metal oxide nanoparticles has been highlighted in this book chapter.

摘要

Emerging contaminants (ECs) are generally classified into pharmaceutical (Ps) and personal care products (PCPs) commonly known as PPCPs which negatively impact ecology and have drawbacks to human health and aquatic organisms. Ceramic-polymeric membranes with nanoparticle coating play a major role in the effective removal of ECs but the influence of NPs on membrane structures and performance is yet to be understood.Treatment of ECs using ceramic ultrafiltration membranes coated with metal oxide nanoparticles has been highlighted in this book chapter.
