Rock strength is an important parameter for rock mass quality evaluation, engineering design, and construction. However, engineering excavation causes rock damage and decreases in rock mass strength. Rock damage is closely related to its acoustic properties during the fracture process. Therefore, in order to obtain the rock stress and damage characteristics of granite during the uniaxial loading failure process under different weathering conditions, rock samples with different weathering degrees were carried out using a triaxial testing machine and wave velocity acquisition equipment. The test results show that the weathering and integrity of rocks can be characterized by comprehensive parameters such as density, wave speed and wave speed ratio; the elastic deformation stage characteristics of different weathered rocks during uniaxial loading are very significant, and there is an inflection point effect in the rock strength and wave speed curves, but due to Due to the influence of micro-joints and cracks inside the rock, the wave speed value does not completely correspond to the strength of the rock. A new damage variable is established based on rock density and integrity, which can characterize the rock loading failure damage process and has a clearer physical meaning.
