Quantifying Global Journalistic Objectivity Research: A Bibliometric Landscape

This study aims to determine the research development on Journalistic Objectivity from 2014 to 2023. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a literature study approach. The data obtained and analyzed were 192 documents. This research also uses VOSviewer to map and analyze data. The results showed that 2020 had the highest number of publications on Journalistic Objectivity. The USA is the country that most influences scientific publications by providing 68 documents. Carlson is the most prolific author with 3 papers in Journalistic Objectivity. The focus of this study led to news assessment and journalistic professionalism, focusing on the development of machine learning algorithms that can understand news content and analyze the truth of facts, as well as find essential elements such as ethics, objectivity, and fairness in journalism. Furthermore, New Production, Political Communication, Journalistic Roles, News Production, Professional Roles, Journalism History, Advocacy Journalism, and Literary Journalism have opportunities for further research. Research trends show that academic interest in understanding the complex aspects of Journalistic objectivity continues to increase. By involving a wide range of topics, the research reflects an attempt to address the growing challenges in the media industry and to study how social and technological changes impact journalism and the formation of public opinion.
