Assessing the Trends and Challenges of Photojournalism in the Digital Age: A Bibliometric Approach

This research aims to find out the development of research on the theme of Photojournalism in the Digital Age from 2014 to 2023. The method used in this research is qualitative research with a literature study approach. The data obtained were examined and analyzed in more than 260 documents. This research also uses VOSviewer to map and analyze data. The results showed that 2015 had the highest number of publications, with 34 papers provided. The United States was the country that contributed the most research publications. Dahmen was the most prolific author, providing ten papers. There is also great potential for further research in areas such as Digitization, Mass Media Communication, Social Media, Documentary, Digital, Citizen Journalism, History, Objectivity, and Professionalism, which still can be explored more deeply in Photojournalism. Ongoing research trends reflect a growing interest in understanding the role and impact of Photojournalism in the Digital Age and the potential to continue exploring new elements relevant to the modern media world. By continuing to invest resources and attention to research on Photojournalism in the digital age, we can better understand the dynamics of contemporary media and generate valuable knowledge for future developments in this field.
