摘要

Innovation is essential to competitiveness across all industries, so businesses must continually find new ways to innovate in order to remain competitive (Boyles 2022). As sustainability becomes more important to businesses, ESG management strategies are increasingly being used in order to assess innovation initiatives holistically as opposed to purely from an economic standpoint. The integration of ESG management into enterprises’ business strategies is helping to enhance management performance, benefit society and the environment, and generate value, particularly in the innovation sector. To stay ahead of rapid changes in the creative economy, companies around the globe have sought creative approaches internally and externally for boosting innovation. In an effort to build a culture of innovation, organizations are increasingly incorporating design thinking into their management strategies. Meanwhile, the introduction of artistic interventions in companies also serves as an external stimulus for innovation, especially when there are insufficient resources. Design-driven and/or art-driven strategies as creative means are, therefore, implemented under the ESG framework to foster enterprise innovation. Asian enterprises are increasingly concerned about sustainability in their innovation practices, with South Korea and China among their representatives. Even though both countries are at an early stage of development, their momentum should not be overlooked.
