摘要

The objective of the study was to technically compare the Angular and React Native frameworks, used to develop hybrid applications. Both frameworks were analyzed, describing their features, advantages and disadvantages, as well as a comparison of their use based on download statistics of the last 2 years in npm-trends. The development of the mobile application MIES_APP with these frameworks, allowed tests to measure the degree of senile dementia in older adults in the province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, however, this was not the subject of comparison in the study. The comparison of the frameworks was performed with the SonarQube tool, which allowed reviewing the code to evaluate its efficiency and detect possible quality problems. After the analysis, it was determined that both applications presented variable quality in their development. The Angular app stood out in security hotspots (40.74%), Code Smells (41.95%) and technical debt (45.25%), with fewer lines of code (52% with respect to React Native) and lower cyclomatic (48.05%) and cognitive (66.67%) complexity. On the other hand, the React Native app showed fewer Bugs (52% compared to Angular) and less code duplication (75.57% compared to Angular). In summary, this study highlights the importance of considering the strengths and weaknesses of each framework when selecting the right technology for a specific project.
