Signal Fidelity in Public Mobile Networks: Investigating Dominant Distortions in Macro and Micro Cells via Physical Layer Analysis

  • Ante Mihaljevic

摘要

Dominant signal distortions in new generation mobile communication networks (4G-5G Mobile Network and Beyond) quantify and classify characteristics, intensities, frequencies, or other measurable parameters of signal propagation phenomena and interference patterns. Therefore, it is important to provide insights into various types of signal distortions and interference on the Physical Layer, such as co-channel interference and adjacent channel interference. This paper will identify and analyze dominant signal distortion characteristics concerning various cell types, specifically focusing on macro and micro cells, to determine the commonness of specific distortions associated with each cell type. Additionally, this research will incorporate quality metrics to examine imperfections in the modulation channel of OFDM systems, supplementing the investigation of dominant signal distortion characteristics.
