Convolutional Neural Network Based Infant Face Recognition System
摘要
Face recognition technology has advanced significantly in recent years, since it has been employed in a wide range of real-world applications. In the modern world, many infants have been unlawfully adopted, exchanged, and abducted. To address these issues, this study has proposed a new method for recognizing newborn faces by employing a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to increase the detection accuracy. A convolutional neural network consists of different layers made up of neurons with learnable parameters, followed by a fully connected layer called the output layer, which indicates the prediction. A diverse set of newborn photos were collected, pre-processed, and trained to the proposed model. Experimental results show that the recommended approach for recognizing the new born face is 88% accurate.
