Blockchain and AI-Powered Intelligent Power Grid: Analysis and Implementation

It has been observed that the traditional power system has to face many of the issues due to growing need of electricity. The rapid growth in the use of renewable energy from the various scattered sources leads to the occurrence of problem in the power grid. Another reason that leads to several problems is the widespread use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the rise of cyber-physical security concerns, and the primary objective of preserving the reliability and stability of the system. Due to these challenges, the need of the safe operation of the power grid is necessary. One of the technologies that would overcome these issues is blockchain technology. Blockchain technology has been incorporated into many smart grid applications, such as data management and cybersecurity in utility grid systems. Also, microgrid systems using blockchain have been used for peer-to-peer trade of electricity. Blockchain technology is thought to be a good fit for energy trade because of its potential properties. The system can be enhanced by the use of another technology known as artificial technology. This paper reviews the existing applications of blockchain and artificial intelligence in power grids. This research reviews the integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence technology in smart grids in order to make the smart grid more efficient and to enhance the security aspects.
