Secure Mobile Device Authentication in Web 3.0

摘要

Web 3.0 is a novel Internet paradigm that emphasizes characteristics such as distribution, decentralization, and smart contracts, which coincide with the distributed attributes of edge-integrated IoV. The establishment of a decentralized identity management and authentication system with the guidance of Web 3.0 can improve the stability and attack resistance of IoV and promote innovation and development in the field of mobile device authentication. In this chapter, we take vehicles as a typical representative of mobile devices, proposing a secure and efficient authentication method, that aims to guarantee the authenticity of the vehicle identity and service continuity for the edge service handover. Specifically, we craft secure mutual authentication of three entities in IoV, which also negotiate session keys for privacy-preserving communication. With distributed blockchain technology, we achieve trust management of authentication results endorsed by the cloud server and exploit the ledger query to improve the authentication efficiency of devices when edge nodes are frequently switched.
